Partnerships with professional associations are very important to mutual insurance companies. Mutuals frequently seek the endorsement of state, county and specialty medical, dental and hospital associations in order to stay in-tune with their members’ needs, educate their members about common causes of loss, and provide their members with quality insurance protection at low long-term cost. Mutuals and associations also frequently support legislation that will benefit their memberships or oppose bills that will cause their memberships harm.
