The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, (ACOG) District II and Medical Liability Mutual Insurance Company (MLMIC) have announced a new partnership to enhance patient safety within that specialty.
ACOG District II, which represents over 4,000 women’s health care providers in New York to advance women’s health through education, advocacy, practice and research, and MLMIC, New York State’s leading expert on medical malpractice insurance since 1975, have long shared a patient safety vision that they will now embark on together. The partnership between both organizations will help both expand their ability to improve patient safety and reduce risk in select focus areas, such as maternal mortality and morbidity.
Both organizations are also exploring the opportunity to advocate together for the healthcare community and effectively lobby for comprehensive medical liability reform.
