New York Joins National Prescription Monitoring Program

Governor Cuomo has announced that New York has joined the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP).  This allows New York prescribers, including physicians and dentists, as well as pharmacists, access to official prescription data from the more than 30 other states participating in the program.

The objective of the program is to prevent the improper procurement of prescriptions for controlled substances across state lines. This program affords providers an additional resource to the I-STOP program.
