MSCQ and MLMIC Collaborate on “Social Media in Healthcare” Lecture

On Wednesday, August 15, the Medical Society of the County of Queens (MSCQ) is hosting “Social Media in Healthcare,” presented in collaboration with MLMIC as part of the MSCQ Office Practice Lecture Series. The free event, which includes continental breakfast, will take place from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the MSCQ office located in Forest Hills (112-25 Queens Boulevard, 4th Floor, Suite 1).

William Hassett, Esq., from the law firm of Fager Amsler Keller and Schoppmann, LLP, counsel to MLMIC, will describe how the use of social media by office practices allows physicians to better market their services and share important medical information with current and prospective patients. In addition, he will detail a number of concerns associated with the use of social media, including advertising risks, breaches of patient confidentiality and inappropriate use.

This presentation is designed for physicians, office practice administrators/managers, office practice staff, nurse administrators, nurse practitioners, nursing staff, staff development, physician assistants, marketing and IT staff.
