An Urgent Message From MLMIC’s Chief Medical Officer, John Lombardo, MD, FACS

A phone scammer targeting healthcare workers

Dear Policyholders:

Please be aware that healthcare providers are the target in an ongoing scam. Individuals pretend to be from the DEA or pretend to be State and/or Federal officials. In many cases, the caller alleges an infraction that would compromise the healthcare provider’s medical license.

There seems to be an increase in frequency of these fraudulent communications in healthcare, and we want you all to be vigilant.

If you receive a fraudulent call or communication from anyone purporting to be from the DEA or any other State or Federal body, please review the Scam Alert on the DEA website, https://www.dea.gov/scam-alert, and follow the instructions provided.

Stay vigilant and keep your Personal Identifiable Information safe. Thank you for being a MLMIC policyholder. It is a privilege to serve you.
