Case Studies Highlight Importance of Veracity, Communication and Detailed Medical Histories

The March 2018 edition of Case Review – a review of case studies for MLMIC-insured physicians and facilities – is now available for reading online. There are two case studies in this issue:

  • Case Study #1: “Conflicting Cardiac Clearance Letters Leave a Suit Indefensible.” This case examines how a lack of veracity from multiple parties led to an indefensible case.
  • Case Study #2: “Improper Penile Implant Results in Postoperative Infection.” This case highlights the importance of communication between prior and subsequent providers when treating patients with complex surgical and medical histories.

Both case studies are followed by a legal and risk management perspective.
