Summer 2016 Case Review Now Available

The Summer 2016 edition of Case Review – a review of case studies for MLMIC-insured physicians and facilities – is now available for reading online. Both case studies in this issue address the potential ramifications of treating family members and close friends.

Specifically, they consider the cases of an ENT who was sued after seeing the son of an acquaintance for only one appointment for which the patient was not even billed (case study #1) and a family physician who was sued for failure to refer a friend to a cardiologist (case study #2). The case studies are followed by a legal and risk management perspective.
