The Winter 2017 edition of Case Review – a review of case studies for MLMIC-insured physicians and facilities – is now available for reading online. There are two case studies in this issue:
- Case Study #1: “Breaches in Standard of Care Lead to Meningitis,” a case study that illustrates the importance of communication between obstetrical and pediatric practitioners and departments.
- Case Study #2: “A Delay in the Diagnosis of Breast Cancer,” a case study that’s representative of cases for which MLMIC has paid several hundred million dollars in indemnity payments over the past 30 years.
Both case studies are followed by a legal and risk management perspective.
