There is no greater time to be a dentist in New York! There are several exciting events coming up this month, including society meetings, seminars and lectures at district and county levels. We’ll be attending most of these events, so be sure to say hi. We can’t wait to see you there!

Nassau County Dental Society (NCDS) General Membership Meeting and CE Seminar with Dr. Howard Golan

May 1, 2023 | 6:30-9:30 pm

New Hyde Park, NY

CE: 2 hours

Join us at The Inn at New Hyde Park for the NCDS’s general membership meeting. We will be learning all about how lasers can transform dentistry from Dr. Howard Golan, a member of NCDS for 25 years. Dr. Golan has been educating other professionals globally since 2005 about incorporating lasers into their work.

While there is no registration fee for dental residents, students and NCDS-member dentists, there are fees for registration for dentists and dental staff with different or no American Dental Association (ADA) membership. Get more information about registration here.

Fifth District Dental Society Spring CE Seminar with Dr. Carla Cohn

We’re excited to attend this spring seminar presented by Carla Cohn, DMD, on new, cutting-edge innovations in pediatric dentistry. This seminar will be geared to general practitioners and family practice. Dr. Cohn is a specialist in pediatric dentistry and a founding member of the Women’s Dental Network in Winnipeg, which prioritizes supplying education and networking for women dentists.

Suffolk County Dental Society (SCDS) General Membership Meeting and CE Seminar

Ninth District Dental Society General Membership Meeting and CE Seminar with Dr. Elias M. Chatah

Tarrytown, NY

This general membership meeting will feature four lecture topics that we’re excited to learn more about: pain management, diabetic management, drug interactions and patient interactions with cannabis/THC. The seminar will be led by Dr. Elias M. Chatah, an assistant clinical professor at the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Every one of these topics has a great impact on dentists from a social and medical standpoint.

May 11 – May 12, 2023

Saratoga Springs, NY

CE: Four sessions worth 6 hours each

This two-day event is the largest general membership meeting held by the Fourth District each year and includes multiple speakers on topics like the impact of patient medications on dental treatment, patient communication, pediatric dentistry and creating a memorable patient experience. There will also be a vendor alley with 40+ dental companies and exhibitors — including us!

SCDS Shredding Event

We’re excited to be sponsoring the SCDS Shredding Event in the rear parking lot of 150 Motor Parkway in Hauppauge. Shredding old charts and personal paper information is a great way to start fresh. Before shredding, always remember to contact your malpractice carrier to be sure you don’t dispose of records you should retain.

New York County Dental Society (NYCDS) In-Person CE Lecture with Dr. Eric A. Wachs

The use of social media by healthcare professionals can get a little sticky — that’s why we’re excited to promote this lecture by Dr. Eric A. Wachs, who handles the Ethics and Professionalism curriculum, among other responsibilities, at Touro College of Dental Medicine. He will discuss the potential issues around social media and how to make responsible decisions when it comes to your online presence.
