Mandatory E-Prescribing Waiver Applications Are Available

On March 27, 2016, mandatory electronic prescribing goes into effect in New York State.  The New York Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement (BNE) has announced that applications for an Electronic Prescribing Waiver (EPW) are now available on the Health Commerce System website.

Paper versions of the applications may be requested by contacting the BNE at 1-866-811-7957, option 1.  Additionally, the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) has instructions available on its website to assist in completing applications for Institutions, Medical Group Practices and Individual Practitioners.
