We are pleased to announce that MLMIC will now write and provide the Section 18 excess insurance previously written and provided by Healthcare Professionals Insurance Company, Albany, NY (HPIC). HPIC provided Section 18 excess insurance to over 6,000 physicians in New York State, many of whom have primary insurance policies with MLMIC.
HPIC President and CEO Mark Morris says, “There could be no better destination and home for HPIC’s policyholders. The strength, stability and great New York traditions of MLMIC will provide them with an unparalleled framework moving forward.” HPIC will mail notice of this change to all excess insureds on May 1, 2017, and will assist them in continuing their Section 18 excess coverage with MLMIC effective July 1, 2017. Excess coverage with HPIC will remain in effect through June 30, 2017.
