MLMIC’s Million Dollar Claims report presents an analysis of claims that closed during 2013 through 2017 and resulted in payments of $1 million or more. The goal was to determine the issues and commonalities of those losses in order to proactively mitigate high-exposure risks for our insureds.

MLMIC is pleased to announce the release of its latest online Risk Management CME program, Proactive Risk Management Follow-Up Program VIII. Those who complete the program can qualify for both premium credit and CME credits and may become eligible for the NYS “free” excess insurance program.

Online registration is open for MLMIC’s April 11 Risk Management Program at the Westchester Marriott Hotel (670 White Plains Road) in Tarrytown. The conference qualifies physicians for CME credit and covers current risk management issues facing all specialties.

1099-B tax forms for recipients of cash consideration from MLMIC’s acquisition by National Indemnity Company will be sent on February 25 via Computershare. The mailing will contain an explanatory insert and a 1099-B tax statement required by the IRS.

MLMIC asks any objectors or Eligible Policyholders currently involved in an unresolved dispute over cash consideration to read the recent Order from the Superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services and review your obligations, available options and the future status of the cash consideration held in escrow.
